Here are the young people we’ve supported and the projects they’ve created:

STEM & Gems

Founded by high schoolers Karen and Karis from Pittsburgh, STEM & Gems is a for-girls, by-girls initiative geared towards elementary school students to prevent the gender gap in STEM. Since 2020, this cost-free program consists of after-school, virtual, weekly, hour-long sessions with hands-on activities and experiments—from designing spaceships to drawing tessellations—running from mid-October to the end of May.

STEM x Music

Founded by high schooler Sanjay from Naperville, STEM x Music explores the intersection of science and music for students in grades 5-8. Guided by high school mentors, this four-part, month-long workshop series will cover science concepts as they relate to music—and in the end, students will use music production software to create an original song.

In the end, parents, siblings, (and pets!) are invited for a mini-showcase.
