What Grounds Us

We care about community, so we first and foremost establish trust and respect.

We care about agency, so we let everyone learn, grow, and create freely.

We care about accessibility, so we try to make our work broad and participatory.

Through this, we build a pipeline of civically-engaged scientifically-informed citizens who are finding and supporting other young people to lead, while acting on problems they identify to create change.

What Guides Us

Civic science is “societal needs and diverse perspectives shape science, and scientific discoveries inform people, decisions, and policies.” (Society Civic Science Initiative)

Civic science ”fosters an understanding that science is not the exclusive domain of ‘scientist experts’ and policymakers.” (Where Civics Meets Science: Building Science for the Public Good through Civic Science)
